When the Stencil Shed launched in 2012 in my hometown of Malmesbury I hid lots of different artworks around the town to ask people to vote for my ‘Stencil Shed’ for the Shed of the Year competition. One of the artworks was a gorilla and it became quite popular, his name back then was Elmo.

I’ve revisited the subject matter and have made a brand new Gorilla 10 years on. The 2022 Gorilla is called ‘Brian’ after my dad (much as he will probably complain) and there are just 10 available to buy in an edition of 10. Each one has been stencilled on the reverse with “Ten Year Anniversary” so its sure to become a highly collectable piece in the future.

This is number 1 in the edition and is spray painted onto elm wood. Looks amazing with the knobbly natural shape above the gorilla portrait. Measures 21 by 22cm, 3cm deep.
