'Simon's Highland' - Been itching to make a new Highland Cow for a while now. This is a progression from my 2018 artwork which was a head portrait only. It’s all about the times of reds, oranges and browns. The angled delicate shadow really pulls the whole artwork together.
This is inspired by an original photograph by Simon Ball, all round nice guy and friend of the Stencil Shed. I’ve just stylised the composition to work with spray paints.
These are a really nice size 14 x 30cm, very eye catching on this rare Elm wood from Scotland. All sustainably sourced from managed woodland here in the UK. Pleasant grain with a natural curve and rustic notch.
Piece name is ‘Simon’s Highland’, edition of 80. Signed on the front and numbered on the rear. You get exactly what you see in the photo. This particular piece is no. 80/80, last in the edition.
